Stephen Joseph Davaris Jr.
Case #: 05-9407
Stephen Davaris was 32 years old when he was last seen on July 6, 2005 by a relative in Secaucus, New Jersey. He told his parents that he was going to the Jersey Shore, but instead it was revealed that he bought a one-way plane ticket from New York to Ireland. The U.S Embassy has confirmed that Stephen arrived in the country of Ireland, in Dublin, on July 8, 2005. Steve had been to Ireland several times before, as he has Irish relatives. Stephen was last sighted at a pub in Inagh, County Clare after his arrival in Ireland.
On July 12, Stephens’ backpack was found washed ashore at Quilty Beach in County Clare. His cell phone, clothing, passport and other identification were inside the bag, but no sign of him. The person who found the bag was a man named John Joe, he took it home. And his wife, a woman named Josephine Ryan, put the SIM card in her own phone. Two days later on July 14, Steve’s parents called his number, and when the woman answered the phone, everyone had then realized that he had gone to Ireland.
After he vanished, Stephen’s rental car was found parked at the Cliffs of Moher. His loved ones believe he took his own life there. Although Steve had no debts, no problems with substance abuse and no history of depression, he did lose his job several months before he went missing and his sister says he had become moody and withdrawn.
Stephen is a Caucasian male that is 6 feet tall and 180 lbs. He has brown hair and blue eyes, with a full beard at the time of his disappearance. Above are two pictures of him and one picture of his tattoo. If he has passed away, his body has not been located.
As of May 2016, Stephen was declared legally dead. Police in Ramsey, New Jersey and in Ireland are still investigating his disappearance.
