The Murdered
Efrain Vargas
Queens, New York
24 year old Efrain Vargas was found brutally beaten, burned, and stabbed to death at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2017 inside of his locked, single room basement apartment located at 89-29 91st Street in Queens, New York. His mother had been unable to reach him for days, leading to her dropping by his home. She had two of her son’s neighbors help her open the door, which is when he was discovered lying face up on the floor.
Efrain had defensive wounds, and his home was locked from the outside with a key.
Detectives said that Efrain had a troubled past but was trying to turn his life around in a positive way when this happened to him.
The murder of Efrain Vargas remains unsolved.
