🔍✨ Cold Case Breakthrough After 50 Years ✨🔍

In January of 2023, investigators identified a woman found murdered in Bedford, New Hampshire, back in October of 1971. The victim has been confirmed as 26-year-old Katherine “Kathy” Ann Alston of Boston Massachusetts. Thanks to decades of persistence and the groundbreaking work of the DNA Doe Project. Kathy vanished the same summer her family moved from Boston to Texas, she was supposed to meet them at Logan Airport but didn’t show up. They never heard from her again. Now we know why: Kathy had been killed just months before her body was discovered off Kilton Road.
Born in Chelsea, MA, Kathy was a Dorchester High grad, a Boston University student, and a young woman building her life in Boston. She had divorced amicably, lived on Beacon Street with a roommate named David Cormier, and had never been reported missing. After years of reconstructions, DNA advances, and collaboration across states and agencies, her identity was finally confirmed through genetic genealogy.
With mystery number one solved, investigators are now focused on finding Kathy’s killer. Anyone who knew Kathy or her roommate, or who lived, studied, or spent time in Boston, Dorchester, or Somerville between 1963–1971, is urged to come forward. Even the smallest detail could help bring justice after more than five decades.
