🔍 Gary Potak–Cold Case 💔
On May 6, 1992, Gary Potak and his friend Charles “Chick” Gombrewicz drove to Father Panik Village in Bridgeport, Connecticut, hoping to buy marijuana. While circling the area, two men crossed in front of their vehicle. When Gary stopped, one man approached the driver’s side, asked what he was looking at, and after he said they wanted to buy pot, the man pulled out a gun and ordered them out of the vehicle. Charles ran after hearing gunshots and later learned that Gary had been fatally shot. Over the years, the case grew cold, no DNA, video, or forensic evidence was collected, and Charles later death in 2005 meant key testimony could no longer be used. Gary’s family, who spent decades seeking answers, still struggles with the loss and lack of closure, especially his son, who was just seven at the time.
Bridgeport Police and the Connecticut Cold Case Unit continue to seek information, urging anyone with knowledge to call 860-548-0606 or 1-866-623-8058. 🕊️💡
