🚨 Richard Aderson – The Murder on I-84 ❄️
On a cold February day in 1997, beloved educator, husband, and father Richard Aderson was driving home through New York’s Hudson Valley when a minor fender-bender on I-84 turned tragically violent. Known as a patient, dedicated school administrator who spent his life helping students, families, and teachers, Richard was the last person anyone imagined caught in a road-rage confrontation. But after both drivers pulled over, an argument escalated, and the other man drew a gun, shooting Richard in the chest before fleeing the scene. With incredible strength, Richard called 911, giving a detailed description of his killer before succumbing to his injuries. His death shattered his family and community and launched a decades-long search for the unidentified driver of a green Jeep-style SUV. Today, Richard’s story remains a haunting reminder of how quickly everyday moments can turn tragic, and why someone, somewhere, may still hold the key to justice. 🕯️🙏
Anyone with information about the killing is asked to call the New York State Police Troop K, Bureau of Criminal Investigation at (845) 298-0398.
