🕯️ Remembering the Chen Family Tragedy 🕯️

In October 2014, the quiet community of Guilderland, New York was shaken when the Chen family; parents Jin and Hai Yan, and their two young sons, were found brutally killed in their home. The attack, carried out before dawn with a blade and/or blunt weapon, became the Capital Region’s first known quadruple homicide. Despite extensive forensic work, outreach across the U.S. and internationally, and hundreds of leads, the case remains unsolved. Cultural and language barriers, lack of early cooperation, and limited surveillance footage slowed progress, while investigators have explored possibilities ranging from personal motives to organized crime ties. More than a decade later, the heartbreaking case continues to haunt the community as a cold case in urgent need of answers.
