🕊️ Remembering Jhamal Cruz 🕊️

On the night of May 8, 2016, 26 year old Jhamal Luis Cruz, also known as “MAL,” was found suffering from a gunshot wound near Marion Street and Bay Street in Springfield Massachusetts’ McKnight neighborhood. Police responded after a ShotSpotter alert and provided emergency aid before he was transported to Baystate Medical Center, where he sadly passed away shortly after arrival. Investigators determined he died from a single gunshot wound and believe the incident was not random. 

The Springfield Police Department continues to investigate and urges anyone with information to contact the Detective Bureau at 413-787-6355 or text an anonymous tip via a cellphone by addressing a text message to “CRIMES,” or 274637, and then beginning the body of the message with the word “SOLVE.” 💙🙏
