🕊️💔 Springfield Shooting Tragedy 💔🕊️
On November 9, 2020, 23 year old Zavia Williams of Springfield tragically lost his life following a shooting on Massachusetts Avenue. Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert around 8:50 p.m. and found Williams inside a car that had just crashed, suffering from gunshot injuries. A second victim, a woman, was also found with minor injuries. Both were taken to Baystate Medical Center, where Williams later passed away. Investigators say the victims were standing in front of a home when a vehicle drove by and shots were fired; Williams attempted to pursue the shooter before crashing.
The Springfield Police Homicide Unit and the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office continue to investigate and ask anyone with information to contact the Springfield Police Detective Bureau at 413-787-6355. 🕊️🚔💙
