Brenda LaCombe was just 19 years old and a young mother when she vanished from Lowell, Massachusetts, in the early morning hours of May 16, 1982. After plans for a double date fell through, Brenda spent the evening drinking wine and playing cards with her grandmother at the Francis Gatehouse Mill complex. Shortly after midnight, she made and received mysterious phone calls, told her grandmother she was heading to her boyfriend’s nearby home, and walked out alone, leaving her purse behind. Brenda never returned. Nearly three weeks later, her remains were discovered over a stone wall along a rural road in Harvard, almost 20 miles from where she was last seen. For more than 40 years, her family has searched for answers, knowing she loved her baby son and would never disappear willingly.
