The Murdered
Deanna Cremin
Somerville, Massachusetts

🕯️💔 The Unsolved Case of Deanna Cremin 💔🕯️
On what should have been a normal school night in Somerville, Massachusetts, 17 year old Deanna Cremin followed her usual Wednesday routine on March 29, 1995, spending time with friends and visiting her boyfriend before heading home ahead of her 10 p.m. curfew. When she still hadn’t returned by midnight, her mother grew worried and tried unsuccessfully to reach her on her pager. Deanna’s boyfriend, the last person known to have seen her alive, said he walked her part of the way home but left her before she reached her house, something her mother later said was out of character, as he normally walked her all the way. The next morning, March 30, just four days after her 17th birthday, Deanna’s body was discovered behind a senior housing complex less than a block from her home by two children she babysat for on their way to school. She had been sexually assaulted and strangled. The shocking crime left the community stunned and searching for answers. Police identified three persons of interest, including her boyfriend, an older local firefighter reportedly fixated on her, and another adult man later imprisoned on unrelated charges, but no arrests were made. A decade later, in 2005, authorities announced that new forensic evidence, made possible by advances unavailable in 1995, had renewed hope in the case, yet it remains unsolved, with investigators still urging anyone with information to come forward.
