On October 8, 1990, 27 year old Judith Lynn McElheney was found fatally shot at a rest stop along Route 5 in the town of Sheridan, New York. She had been struck by a single gunshot near her left ear, and despite ongoing efforts, no suspects or motive have ever been identified. The case remains active with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Unsolved Crimes Unit.
