The Murdered
Thomas B. Douglas aka “Reno X Bates”
Dunkirk, New York

🎤 Remembering Thomas “Reno X Bates” Douglas 🎶

Thomas Douglas of Buffalo, New York, also known as “Reno X Bates,” was tragically shot to death in the early hours of July 17, 2011, his 26th birthday, during an after-hours party near the Arrowhead Apartments in Dunkirk. While his life ended in violence by someone unknown, Thomas’s story is defined by resilience, talent, and determination. Raised by a single mother and shaped by poverty, frequent moves, bullying, health challenges, and disabilities from childhood injuries and lead poisoning, he refused to be limited by his circumstances. With the support of his siblings and friends, Thomas discovered his purpose through music, building a promising career entirely through hard work. When he held a microphone, his speech impediment and struggles disappeared, and he became confident in who he was. A father and an inspiration to others facing long odds, Reno’s life was far more than the tragedy that took him, he remains remembered for his strength, creativity, and the legacy of perseverance he left behind. 💙🙏🎵
