💔 A Life Cut Short: The Unsolved Murder of Catherine “Cathy” Marie Britt 🕊️

In the early morning hours of May 15, 1983, 22 year old Catherine “Cathy” Marie Britt and her male companion were parked along Poplar Hill Road near Merrymans Mill Road in the Loch Raven Reservoir area when an unknown gunman suddenly opened fire into their vehicle. Both were struck and rushed to local hospitals, but Cathy later died from her injuries, while her companion survived. The attack followed a strikingly similar shooting just weeks earlier in April 1983 at another nearby secluded location, where a different couple was ambushed but lived. Despite extensive investigation, increased patrols, and the creation of a suspect sketch, the killer has never been identified. More than four decades later, Cathy’s murder remains unsolved, and police continue to urge anyone with information to come forward in hopes of finally bringing justice to her case. 🕯️🔍
