On the night of October 1, 1994, Baltimore County Maryland Police responded to a reported burglary in progress on Heatherton Court in Woodlawn after a 23 year old woman called 911 to say intruders were breaking into her home. When officers arrived, they found Raycol Lavette Harris, a beautician and Woodlawn High School graduate, inside her residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; she later died at a local hospital. Harris, who lived with her two year old daughter, who was unharmed, had previously been the victim of a similar home invasion just months earlier, when four men reportedly tied her up and stole money and jewelry, leading police to believe the incidents may have been connected. More than 30 years later, her murder remains unsolved, and authorities continue to seek information, offering a reward of up to $2,000 for tips that could help bring closure to her family.
