The Murdered
Margaret Estelle Jones
Baltimore County Maryland

🕯️ Justice Still Sought for “Mama Hubcap” 🔍
On the morning of May 15, 1982, Baltimore County Maryland police responded to a call reporting a medical emergency at the longtime home of 92 year old Margaret Estelle Jones on North Point Boulevard. Her son, who checked on her daily, discovered her lying on the bedroom floor and initially believed she had suffered a heart attack. However, an autopsy revealed that Jones died from severe trauma to her upper body, and investigators determined she had been brutally beaten, strangled, and possibly sexually assaulted, with even her spine broken. Known affectionately as “Mama Hubcap” for collecting hubcaps that rolled into her yard from the busy street, Margaret had lived at the same property for decades and was the matriarch of her family. Despite hopes that someone may have seen suspicious activity that morning, the case remains unsolved more than 40 years later.
Police are offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information, and tips can be submitted anonymously through Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7-LOCKUP or directly to Baltimore County’s Unsolved Case Division at 410-887-3943. 🕊️💔🕵️♂️
