The Murdered
Helen and Joseph Magaskie
Dundalk, Baltimore County, Maryland

🔍 A Cold Case That Still Haunts Dundalk 🔍
On July 22, 1983, Baltimore County Maryland police discovered the brutal stabbing deaths of Joseph “Joe” Magaskie, 53, and his wife Helen Magaskie, 55, inside their ransacked Dundalk home on Eder Road after a concerned neighbor went to check on them. Both were found on the bathroom floor with fatal stab wounds to their upper bodies, and evidence suggested the crime occurred in broad daylight shortly after Helen returned from grocery shopping. Joseph, a well-known owner of Auto Liquidators who had recently sold his dealership amid financial struggles, was known for his outgoing personality and connections to questionable characters, and family members believe the couple was targeted for cash Joseph kept hidden in the home. More than 40 years later, no arrests have been made, leaving the case cold and the family without closure. The Magaskies’ niece, Tiffany, continues to plead for answers, urging anyone with information to come forward, as Metro Crime Stoppers still offers a reward of up to $2,000 for tips leading to justice.
