πŸ’” Fourty Years Without Answers: Remembering Janice Lynn Potter πŸ•ŠοΈ

On April 15, 1986, 24 year old Janice Lynn Potter, who was two months pregnant, returned home from work to her townhouse on Talister Court in Rossville, Maryland, ate dinner, and settled into the basement family room to watch TV. Because the wood-burning stove made the space uncomfortably warm, her husband cracked open the sliding glass door before leaving for night classes around 6 p.m. During a severe rainstorm that same evening, Janice stayed home after canceling plans with her sister, an innocent decision that would haunt her family forever. Sometime between 6 and 10 p.m., an intruder is believed to have entered through the partially open door, brutally stabbing Janice to death and stealing jewelry and antique silver items. In the weeks leading up to her murder, Janice had received harassing phone calls, which investigators suspect may be connected to the crime. Her husband was quickly ruled out, and despite decades of investigation, her killing remains unsolved. Police believe someone from the neighborhood may hold vital information, and Janice’s family continues to seek justice more than 30 years later, urging anyone with even the smallest detail to come forward.
