Late on the night of June 28, 1997, Baltimore County Maryland Police responded to reports of shots fired at an apartment complex on Rudisill Court in Woodlawn, where 25 year old Carlos Lamont Thomas was found behind the building with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but sadly did not survive. Investigators learned that Thomas had returned home after his girlfriend, who was alone in the apartment, heard suspicious noises on the rear balcony and called him. Witnesses reported hearing Thomas confront someone on the balcony just before multiple gunshots rang out, followed by three young black males fleeing the scene. The case remains unsolved, and authorities continue to urge anyone with information to come forward in hopes of bringing justice to Carlos and his loved ones.
