🕊️ Robert Gilson — Unsolved Homicide 🕯️

In the early morning of September 5, 1982, 13 year old Robert “Robbie” Gilson Jr. was found unresponsive in his sleeping bag inside a cattle barn at the Champlain Valley Fairgrounds in Essex Junction, Vermont, where he had been helping a farmer care for livestock. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, and his death was initially ruled undetermined. In 1996, after new evidence and a second autopsy, authorities reclassified the case as a homicide, with indications he had been sexually assaulted. Despite reopened investigations and advances in DNA technology, the case remains unsolved, and law enforcement continues to seek information from the public to bring justice to Robbie and closure to his family.
