On Sunday, January 24, 1971, 17 year old Barbara Specht was tragically found murdered in her home at 368 E. 10th Street in New York City after a neighbor stopped by to ask for sugar and discovered her in her bed around 5:30 p.m. She was found in her nightclothes with severe injuries to her head and face, and police believe she was killed earlier that day around 11:30 a.m. Barbara was born February 9, 1953, in Philadelphia and had been reported as a runaway. The photo shared is from her 1968 yearbook.
