🕯️💔 Karen Baxter – Tragic Case, 1975 💔🕯️
Fifteen-year-old Karen Baxter was found murdered on February 22, 1975, in Room 202 of the Hotel Belmore at 61 Lexington Avenue in New York City. She had checked in around 10:00 p.m. with a male companion for a short stay, but he returned the room key minutes later. When Karen did not come back downstairs, a hotel clerk checked the room and discovered her deceased. She had been strangled with her own necklace and left on the bed, partially covered by a sheet. Reynold Stoddard, 30, was later arrested and charged in connection with the case, but the charges were dropped in May 1975. Despite earlier allegations from another woman who claimed he attempted to kill her, no one was ultimately indicted for Karen’s murder.
