💔 An Innocent Life Lost 🕯️

Months after the fatal shooting, the family of 27 year old Jasmine G. Johnson is still struggling to comprehend the sudden and senseless loss of their daughter. Just before 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, Jasmine was standing on the front porch of a home along the 3100 block of West Montgomery Avenue in Philadelphia’s Strawberry Mansion neighborhood when gunfire erupted nearby. Police say she was not the intended target, but an innocent bystander caught in crossfire during what investigators believe was a shootout. After being struck, Jasmine ran inside the home and collapsed in the living room, where she was pronounced dead by medics.
    Jasmine’s family remembers her as a loving, joyful person who had been at the location simply helping a friend care for her grandchildren. The tragedy is made even more heartbreaking by the timing, she was killed on her brother’s birthday and laid to rest on what would have been her 28th birthday. Investigators recovered at least 20 shell casings from a rifle and a handgun, and bullets also struck nearby homes while others, including children, were inside but unharmed. No arrests have been made, and the case remains open. 

A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction; tips can be provided anonymously to the Philadelphia Police Department at 215-686-TIPS (8477). 

Jasmine’s family continues to plead for answers, hoping someone will come forward so they can begin to heal.
