🖤⚖️ Cold Case Murder in Williamstown, NJ
The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office continues to seek tips and leads in long-unsolved homicide cases, including the 2007 murder of 65 year old widow Lockey Mitten of Williamstown, New Jersey. On Saturday, July 28, 2007, at approximately 6:42 p.m., a neighbor discovered Mitten’s body inside her mobile home at 214 Indiana Avenue in the Colonial Estates Mobile Home Park. She had suffered a slash wound to her neck and was found on a living room sofa. Neighbors last reported seeing her alive around 5:30 p.m. the previous day. Investigators noted no signs of forced entry and nothing appeared to be missing, indicating the crime was not a robbery. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Mitten moved to the Williamstown area in 1968 and worked as a secretary for New Jersey Bell and Verizon for four decades before retiring in 1999. Despite extensive efforts by the Monroe Township Police Department and the Prosecutor’s Office, the case remains unsolved.Â
A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office at 856-384-5500. 🕯️🔍
