🕊️ The Unsolved Murder of Daniel Roop 🕊️
On February 17, 1999, at approximately 12:50 a.m., officers with the Richmond Virginia Police Department responded to reports of a gunshot in the 2400 block of Drake Street in Richmond. Residents in the area had contacted police after hearing gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered 43 year old Daniel Lee Roop with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. The location of the homicide was in Richmond’s South Side, near the Bellmeade neighborhood and Jefferson Davis Highway. The case was classified as a homicide and is still unsolved.
