On February 24, 1981, Linda Diane Sykes, a 21 year old student at Christopher Newport College in Newport News, Virginia, was tragically found deceased by her mother in the upstairs bathtub of her residence at 43 Franktown Road in Hampton. Linda had been struck with a blunt object in another area of the home before being drowned in the bathtub. Her death was ruled a homicide.
