🕯️ Unsolved Homicide of Louis Anthony “Louie” Barone 🕯️
On November 6, 1996, at approximately 7:45 p.m., 26 year old Louis Anthony “Louie” Barone of Virginia Beach was tragically murdered. Earlier that evening, around 5:45 p.m., police responded to reports of gunfire in the 100 block of Castilian Drive at the Columbus Station East Condominiums. Officers arrived to find Louie seated inside his dark-colored 1992 GMC pickup truck, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to Virginia Beach General Hospital, where he later died. Witnesses reported hearing a gunshot and then seeing a white male exit the pickup truck and enter the passenger side of a light blue or silver Chevrolet Camaro driven by another individual. The Camaro was noted for having a loud exhaust system before it sped away from the scene. The State Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Louie’s death a homicide. Louie was described as a white male with black hair and brown eyes, standing 5’8” tall and weighing approximately 140 pounds. Detectives have pursued numerous leads over the years, and authorities continue to seek information.
