🕊️ In Loving Memory of Tevin Woodley 🕯️

On March 4, 2023, at approximately 4:40 a.m., officers with the Hampton Police Division responded to a call regarding a shooting in the 600 block of Marcella Road in Hampton, Virginia. A gunshot had reportedly been heard about 30 minutes prior to police being notified. When officers arrived at 601 Marcella Road, they found 31 year old Tevin Woodley of Newport News lying on the floor inside an apartment, suffering from a gunshot wound. Members of Hampton Fire and Rescue Division responded to the scene and pronounced him deceased at 4:58 a.m. Authorities later learned that Woodley had attended a party at the residence the evening before. His death is being investigated as a homicide, and the case remains active with no suspect information released at this time.
Woodley’s passing has left his family devastated. His sister, Tierra, described March 4 as the worst day of her life, recalling the heartbreak of hearing her mother grieve and the unimaginable pain of losing her brother. She remembered him as a hardworking man with a vibrant personality who could make anyone smile. Above all, she said his proudest accomplishment was being a father to his three children, ages 12, 10, and 6 months. While his older children are deeply saddened by the loss, his youngest child will only know his father through the memories shared by loved ones.

The Hampton Police Division continues to investigate the motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting and is asking anyone with information to come forward.
