A beloved Hun School of Princeton teacher, 31 year old Marjorie Szeker was brutally attacked and murdered in a retail store parking lot in Hamilton Township, New Jersey at 8:33 p.m. on September 20, 1989. She shopped at the Cost Cutters and was near her vehicle to unload the items she purchased, when a Hispanic man approached her and demanded she give him her purse. A struggle began and Marjorie ended up being stabbed several times. The man quickly entered a two-tone van occupied by two other Hispanic males, and fled.
Marjorie was being assisted by onlookers upon the arrival of police and medical personnel, as she was unconscious and bleeding profusely. She was rushed by ambulance to the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and passed away shortly after.
Marjorie was a graduate from the Hun School and adored her job of teaching art to middle school students and photography to high school students. She was also the school’s head swim coach and assistant tennis coach.
There was another murder that occurred in April, just five months before, showing similar tactics. Emily “Cissy” Stuart was stabbed to death in the basement of her home, just 10 miles away from where Marjorie was attacked. Both women were stabbed several times, and no murder weapon or suspect was located. However, there has never been any definitive proof the two cases are connected.

There has never been any motive established and both cases remain unsolved.

If you have any further information, please contact the Hamilton Police Department at 609-581-4000.
