The Missing
Kimberly Ann Moreau
Jay, Maine
(Age progression)
Kimberly Ann Moreau was only 17 years old when she was last seen leaving her family home on Jewell Street in Jay, Franklin County, Maine around midnight of either May 9th, 10th, or 11th, of 1986. (Sources differ.) She left her purse, makeup and other personal belongings behind and she told her sister that she would be home in one hour. She has never been seen again.
Kimberly’s original plan was to attend her junior prom with her boyfriend, Michael Staples that night. However, the day before, Kim and Mike got into an argument and she decided not to go. Instead, she spent the evening with her friend, Rhonda Breton, and they met up with two 25 year old men to go to a drinking party. It is said that Rhonda was already acquainted with one of them, a man named Brian Enman. When he was questioned, Brian told police that he dropped Kimberly off in his white late-model Pontiac Trans-Am at the bottom of Jewel Street, a half mile from her home, at 3:45 a.m, saying she insisted on walking the rest of the way home. He stated she was still upset over the fight she had with her boyfriend and wanted to be alone.
Kimberly’s parents do not think this is true, because it was a cold night and Kim was fearful of the dark.
In 2015, new evidence was discovered which allowed authorities to obtain a warrant to search a 5 acre plot of land that was directly next to Brian Enmans’ property. A second search was conducted in Jay related to Kimberly’s disappearance, but there was never a public announcement as to what the police were looking for or what they may have located during either search.
Brian Enman has denied involvement in Kim’s disappearance, but is still considered a person of interest.
Kim’s father says he has maintained contact with Brian in hopes of finding out what happened to his daughter.
One of Kimberly’s sisters thinks she died accidently that night and people she was with have covered it up.
Kim Moreau is a white female, 5’7”, 135 lbs with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a white blouse, blue jeans, white high top sneakers and her boyfriend’s class ring engraved “Mike 87” and “Mike Staples.” She has 4 piercings in her left ear, 3 piercings in her right, a healed fracture of her arm and her ankle, and a surgical scar on her back.
Kimberly was legally declared deceased in 1993. Foul play is suspected.
Recently there was a discovery of a body located by a psychic who has been working with Kimberly’s family members in the search for 5 years. The body was discovered in the woods two streets over from Kim’s Jewell Street home. Unfortunately it was announced on October 20th 2024 that the body was examined and determined to be male.
