Amanda DeGuio was 24 years old when she disappeared from her home in Upper Darby/Drexel Hill, Delaware County, Pennsylvania on June 3rd of 2014. She had just gotten back from a trip to Disney World in Florida on May 30th. The morning of the 3rd, Amanda’s mother Joanne asked her to do her laundry from the trip and to bring in luggage she had left outside. By the time her mother returned to the house at 5:00 p.m, the suitcase Amanda took with her to Florida had been unpacked but not yet washed, and Amanda was gone. She left her phone, and credit cards behind. Amanda does not drive and it is unknown if she left home on foot or was picked up. She was reported missing by her sister Nicole on August 27th 2014. Amanda unfortunately has an opiate addiction after being prescribed Percocet for complications from giving birth. By the time she went missing, she had progressed to heroin, but was newly in recovery. She also suffers from bipolar disorder. She is a white female with long brown hair and blue eyes, standing at 5’1”- 5’3” and weighing 100-120 lbs at the time. Her teeth were in poor condition. She has a diagonal surgical scar on her middle/upper abdomen. She likes to dye her hair or wear wigs. She is known to wear headbands, bracelets, earrings and big sunglasses. She uses a large white purse. Her date of birth is March 5th of 1990.
She was known to frequent Upper Darby, Drexel Hill, Clifton Heights, and the Overbrook section of Philadelphia, PA. She has been known to leave home for several days at a time but she has never been gone for this long. Amanda has two daughters and she usually kept in touch with them through her mother.
She has the following tattoos: Lips or a lipstick mark on her right buttocks, the shape of Italy with the words “La Vita Bella” in script above it on her right side, the name “Tommy” under her right breast, the letters “SC” on her ring finger, and the letters “MF” on the inside of her lower lip.
She may use the names Adrianna, Crystal, Gianna, Stacy, Mandy, or “Manz.”
Loved ones searched hospitals and morgues; investigators shut down neighborhood streets, dug around a few rural properties, used search dogs and specialized equipment, and even drained a septic tank, with no results.
Around one week after Amanda vanished, she picked up a prescription “Oxycontin” at a pharmacy that was prescribed to someone else. Due to this, a warrant was issued for her arrest for identity theft and receiving stolen property. There was a previous record for retail theft in the past.
Police believe Amanda was involved in prostitution at the time she went missing. Her sister found an escort advertisement on backpage.com of Amanda offering her services. There were also theories that she was kidnapped and sex trafficked.
Foul play is suspected, but Amanda has not been located. If she is alive she is 34 years old. Her two daughters had to grow up without their mom.
