The Missing
Christa Nicole Belusko
Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania
Christa Nicole Belusko was just 2 years old when she was last seen with her mother Christine Belusko, at the Mount Airy Lodge in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania in September of 1991. Christa is a white female with brown hair and brown eyes, only 2’4” inches tall and was just 30 lbs at the time. Police are unsure who Christa’s father is.
Christa’s mother Christine was unfortunately located deceased in the woods off of Seaview Avenue in Staten Island, New York on September 20th, but the toddler was not located.
Christine was adopted as an infant and grew up in Morris County, New Jersey. No one in her family besides her brother knew she had a child, and because Christine’s family thought she was fine and living in Florida, no one reported her missing or identified her for over 30 years. When her handcuffed, partially clothed, brutally beaten, strangled and burned body was found, the police called her “The girl with the scorpion tattoo,” and declared her a Jane Doe murder victim. She was found face up and had around 17 to 20 blows to her head, and the murder weapon was located at the scene, a “work style” hammer with the name “Lloyd L.” scratched into the handle. The FBI and the NYPD have joined forces to identify Christine’s murderer, believing it to be someone she knew.
The identity of Christine’s killer remains unknown, and police are attempting to locate Christa.
If you have any information on the whereabouts of Christa, please contact the Staten Island District Attorney’s Office at 718-556-7085 or send an email to info@rcda.nyc.gov.
