The Missing Karen Adams

The Missing
Karen Adams
Independence Township, Pennsylvania

Karen S. Adams was 54 years old when she was last seen by her brother John at the house they shared in Independence Township, PA on March 11, 2007. They lived close to the border of West Virginia. Her brother stated that Karen had a gambling addiction and he had repeatedly asked her to stop spending money playing games at the local casinos, but she ignored his wishes and kept going.
On March 12, 2007 she was spotted on security cameras at the Mountaineer Casino Racetrack and Resort in Chester, West Virginia several times during the night playing bingo and slots.  The surveillance videos showed that Karen left the bingo area around 11:00 p.m. and headed to the other side of the casino to play on the slot machines. Employee’s claim that Karen didn’t interact with anyone while she was inside.
The last footage of Karen was at 4:31 a.m. as she was leaving the building and walking towards the parking lot to get to her Maroon or Red 2005 Suzuki Forsa or Forenza (sources differ) with PA License plate # EDT5887. She is not actually seen leaving in her vehicle due to the camera angle, and her brother thinks something happened to her in the parking lot. Karen is a white female with green eyes and brown curly hair past her shoulders. She is 5’4”-5’6” and 110-120 lbs. She usually wears lightly tinted wire-rimmed glasses. She was last seen wearing a green coat, two dark colored shirts, blue jeans and a baseball cap. Karen and her vehicle have never been located. According to cell phone records, Karen’s cell phone made a call to her voicemail around 4:35 a.m. on March 12. No one can say whether it was actually Karen who made the call or if it was someone else.
Karen’s family says she would not leave without telling them and she would never abandon her beloved yellow lab named Amy. Karen worked two jobs, she was a cashier at Big Lots and she was also a teacher’s aide for disabled people at the Allegheny Valley School. She hadn’t missed a day of work in three years.
Karen’s family have gone to hospitals in the area and have checked several morgues. They’ve handed out hundreds of flyers and have spent days driving around looking for any sign of Karen or her vehicle.
Over the years there have been numerous potential sightings of Karen, but none are confirmed.
Karen’s disappearance is still unsolved.
