The Missing Cleashindra Hall

The Missing
Cleashindra Denise Hall
Pine Bluff, Arkansas

Cleashindra (Clea) Denise Hall was 18 years old when she vanished on the evening of Monday, May 9, 1994 in Pine Bluff Arkansas. She had an after school job doing clerical work at the home office of Dr. Larry Amos, a man who ran a food program through a federal grant, allocating resources for childcare facilities. After work every night, Clea would call one of her parents to come pick her up. That night in particular, she called her mother, Laurell, at 8 p.m., and asked her if anyone had tried calling her at home. Laurell said no, and Clea responded that she would call again after she clocked out. Shortly after this phone call, her mother fell asleep. She woke up just before 1:00 a.m and realized Clea’s second call never came. She then called Dr. Amos, who answered on the first ring, claimed that Clea clocked out at 8:30 p.m. and was picked up by an unknown individual, but he could not give a description of the person or the vehicle she was picked up in. One of Clea’s co-workers states that she told them she would be walking home. This was something that she did not normally do, even if she only lived a few blocks away.
Clea’s mother stayed up the rest of the night waiting for her daughter to call her back. Daylight came, and still no sign of Clea. At first, her family thought she may have gone straight to school with her friend, but he said he had not seen her. Clea never attended her early morning band practice or any of her classes that day.
Her parents called the police at 9:00 p.m. on May 10th, but because Clea was 18 and legally an adult, they refused to accept a missing persons report for 24 hours. Police eventually searched Clea’s friend’s vehicle and his home and found no clues. He took a polygraph but the results were inconclusive. Dr. Amos was questioned but refused to take a polygraph. In March of 2011, a search warrant was executed on Dr. Amos’s property. Search K9’s and a swarm of police were seen. All of the insulation and drywall samples tested negative for blood. There was no evidence located.
Cleashindra is a black female with black hair and brown eyes, standing at 5’8” and weighing 120 lbs. She was last seen wearing a white blouse with navy blue stripes, and white shorts with navy blue polka dots, white sneakers and socks, and small stud earrings. Her hair was up in a ponytail with a white bow.  Clea didn’t have her purse, identification, extra clothes or any money when she disappeared. She has a surgical scar on her left knee. One of her front teeth is slightly chipped. She wears hair extensions and press-on-nails. She is right handed and has a slender build.
She was just two weeks away from graduating Watson Chapel High School with top honors. At the ceremony, Clea was supposed to be the one to give the commencement address, and she previously expressed her excitement. She had a summer internship lined up in Boston, Massachusetts, and that fall she would have gone to Tennessee State University to participate in their pre-med program, pursuing her dream of becoming a pediatrician.
Clea got along well with her family, was active in church, was considered a top student in high school, and never stayed out late without her parents permission. She had no previous history of running away or getting in much trouble at all.
30 years have passed, and investigators still believe she was harmed by someone she knew and trusted. The Pine Bluff Police Department shamefully admitted to “many mistakes being made during the initial stages of the investigation.” Clea’s mother believes the police should not have waited so long to examine Dr. Amos’s home. She says he had time to discard evidence. He is still considered a person of interest.

Cleashindra’s family and friends are determined to find her and refuse to stop searching.
