29 year old New York political candidate Petros Krommidas has been missing since the night of Wednesday, April 23, 2025. He was last seen on security footage walking on the boardwalk in Long Beach, Long Island, NY. 
Authorities searched for Petros with drones, along with divers, several first responders and members of his family and friends along the 3 mile stretch of beach. His towel, phone, keys and clothing were left on the sand near the waters edge. His vehicle was found parked nearby to the boardwalk and a local hotel named the Allegria. His family believes he went for a night swim in the ocean to train for an upcoming triathlon he was going to participate in.  
Petros frequently worked with the Nassau County Board of Elections and was said to have cared deeply for his community. 
A state judge recently ordered Petros’ name to remain on the November ballot, ruling that he’s still considered missing and not officially deceased, although it is presumed. 
He is described as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes, standing at 6’2” and weighing 230 pounds.
