The Missing
Alice Pereira
New Dorp Beach, Staten Island, New York

5 year old Alice Pereira was last seen on July 7, 1972 in New Dorp Beach, Staten Island, New York. She vanished from her home at the Tysens Lane Apartment Complex. She was previously seen playing in the lobby of the building with her 8 year old brother Angelo. He walked away from her for a brief minute and when he returned, Alice was gone. She may have been spotted in a park near to the complex shortly afterwards, at about 3:30 p.m.
A suspected serial killer, child predator and kidnapper named Andre Rand has been accused of being seen walking with Alice on the day she vanished. Andre Rand was either a painter or a janitor at the apartment where Alice and her family lived. He was eventually convicted of kidnapping Holly Hughes and Jennifer Schweiger, and was a suspect in the disappearances of Audrey Nerenberg, Ethel Atwell, Tiahease Jackson and Hank Gafforio.
Alice is described as a white female with black hair and hazel eyes, standing at 3’6” and weighing around 35 pounds. She was last seen wearing a red polo shirt and blue shorts with gold buttons, and red sneakers.
Whatever happened to little Alice Pereira remains unknown.
