🕊️ Missing Since 1975: Remembering Edna Christine Thorne 🕊️

15 year old Edna Christine Thorne was last seen on June 24, 1975, in Philadelphia, PA. She had just graduated from Stetson Junior High and was excited about a pony gifted to her by her brother in law. That day, Edna left her Front Street home to visit the horse at a relative’s stable on Tioga Street. She was last seen leaving the stable, and never returned. Though she had been in foster care previously and recently argued with her sister, there’s no evidence she planned to run away. She took no money or anything else with her, only a pack of cigarettes. Edna’s family has long shared concerns about a possible suspect connected to her disappearance, rumors of the brother in law having sexually abused Edna and gotten her pregnant, and he was supposedly at the horse stable on the day Edna disappeared. Though none of this has been officially confirmed. Disturbing anonymous calls to her sister after she vanished led investigators to fear she may have been killed, and her case is classified as a non-family abduction. At the time, Edna’s hair was dyed blonde but is naturally brown. She had brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a striped shirt with bell-bottom jeans. Her family and community still seek answers.
