🕊️ Missing: Wilfred “Butch” King III 🕊️

Wilfred “Butch” King III, 37, was reported missing from his Essex, Vermont home on October 24, 1980, and investigators believe he was the victim of a homicide, though neither he nor his remains have ever been found. That evening, after spending time hunting in the woods behind his house, Butch, who relied on crutches following a serious car accident, left home in his blue and white 1979 Chevrolet Blazer and was never seen again. The next day, hunters discovered his bloodstained crutches and a boot in nearby Colchester, and two weeks later, his burned vehicle was found in a gravel pit in Williston. Despite decades of interviews and investigation, no arrests have been made, and the case remains one of Vermont’s most haunting cold cases.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Essex Police Department Williston office at 802-878-7111. 💔🔍
