💚 Missing: Brenda Sue Davidson 💚

Brenda Sue Davidson was a 14 year old girl from Woodbridge, Virginia, who vanished on March 4, 1974, and has never been seen or heard from again. A white female with brown hair and green-brown eyes, she stood between 5’5” and 5’7” tall and weighed approximately 135 pounds. On the morning she disappeared, Brenda left her home at Gleaton Trailer Park on Gordon Boulevard and walked to Fred Lynn Middle School. She was last seen wearing a denim coat with a fur collar and boots. Days earlier, she had been caught stealing, and on the day she vanished, she reportedly took $100 from her father’s wallet before heading to school. When she did not return home that afternoon, her family contacted the Prince William County Police Department, who began investigating her disappearance.
An employee at a nearby Greyhound bus station later recalled that a young girl purchased a ticket that day, though it was never confirmed whether the girl was Brenda. She had previously confided in friends about wanting to run away to Florida, leading some to believe she may have left voluntarily. However, despite reported sightings in the days following her disappearance, no solid evidence has ever confirmed what happened to her. While authorities have classified her case as a runaway, it remains active more than 50 years later.
Brenda’s younger sister, Lisa, was just seven years old when Brenda disappeared. For decades, Lisa has searched for answers, even hiking portions of the Appalachian Trail each year in honor of her sister’s birthday and sharing Brenda’s story along the way with handmade tributes. In 1985, after their father passed away, the family received several mysterious silent phone calls, leaving them to wonder if Brenda had tried to reach out. The calls eventually stopped, and no further clues surfaced.
Over the years, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children created an age-progressed image showing what Brenda might look like today, offering renewed hope that someone may recognize her. March 4, 2024, marked 50 years since Brenda walked out the door and vanished without a trace. Her loved ones continue to hope that one day the truth will come to light.

Anyone with information about Brenda Sue Davidson’s disappearance is urged to contact the Prince William County Police Department tipline at 703-792-7000 or call NCMEC at 1-800-843-5678. Lisa still holds on to hope that her sister will come home. 💚
