🕯️ Missing Person: Roberta Anne Michels-Hopkins 🕯️
Roberta Anne Michels-Hopkins, a 28 year old white female with brown hair and green eyes, was last seen on February 17, 1981, in Camden, New Jersey. Standing between 5’1” and 5’5” and weighing approximately 120–140 pounds, she was known to sometimes wear wigs and had identifying scars on her right wrist and ankle. Nicknamed “Bertie” and “Robin,” Roberta disappeared during a blizzard after leaving her home to buy cigarettes and food stamps, and she never returned. Shockingly, no missing persons report was filed at the time, leaving her case largely uninvestigated for decades. Her infant son was placed in foster care and grew up believing he had been abandoned, unaware that his mother had vanished without a trace.
More than 40 years later, Roberta’s granddaughter, Trinity, uncovered the truth through a DNA test and began searching for answers about her grandmother’s fate. What she found only deepened the mystery. Family members had limited information, unanswered questions, and suspicions that Roberta may have been murdered. Despite reaching out to several relatives, including Roberta’s last living sibling, Trinity has struggled to obtain clarity. Over the years, theories have ranged from foul play to voluntary disappearance, though no evidence has confirmed any conclusion. Complicating matters further, key individuals connected to Roberta’s life, including her former partner, are no longer alive, taking potential answers with them.
In 2022, Trinity finally ensured that Roberta was officially reported missing, allowing law enforcement to begin a long-overdue investigation. Through her research, she uncovered details about Roberta’s life, her upbringing, relationships, and personal struggles, painting a picture of a complex woman who may have faced family estrangement. A heartfelt letter that she wrote shortly before her disappearance suggests she felt isolated and excluded, adding emotional depth to the case. Today, Trinity remains determined to uncover the truth, holding onto hope that justice will one day be served and that the mystery surrounding her grandmother’s disappearance will finally be resolved.
