🚨🕯️ Lancaster Homicide: Titus “Tyke” Gant Fatally Shot Before Crashing Vehicle 💔
Authorities in Lancaster Pennsylvania continue to investigate the 2013 homicide of 38-year-old Titus “Tyke” Eugene Gant, who was fatally shot while driving through the city’s northwest neighborhood.
On the night of June 12, 2013, Lancaster City Police were already responding to reports of gunfire in the 100 block of North Pine Street when another emergency call came in about a vehicle crash nearby on the 100 block of Nevin Street. Around 10:15–10:30 p.m., officers arrived to find Gant unresponsive inside a vehicle that had collided with a parked car.
Investigators believe Gant had been shot moments earlier while behind the wheel and managed to drive approximately 50 to 100 feet before losing control and crashing. Officers immediately began CPR until medics arrived on scene. Gant was transported to the hospital, where he sadly died from his injuries.
Police later confirmed the victim was Titus Eugene Gant, age 38, of East Orange Street in Lancaster.
According to investigators, the shooting occurred somewhere near where the crash happened, though authorities have never publicly disclosed the exact location. Police also declined to confirm reports that Gant may have been shot multiple times.
Lancaster police stated early in the investigation that all signs indicated the attack was targeted and not random, though they did not say whether Gant knew the shooter.
Witnesses reported seeing a man running from the area shortly after the gunfire. One witness also claimed they saw someone throw an object beneath a bush on nearby West Marion Street. Authorities never confirmed publicly whether a weapon or additional evidence was recovered there.
Despite an active investigation, no arrests were announced in connection with the homicide.
