🌹 Can You Help Give Her a Name? | Unidentified Woman Found in Cranbury, NJ

On February 28, 1977, the body of a young Black/African American woman was discovered off the New Jersey Turnpike in Cranbury, Middlesex County, New Jersey. Nearly five decades later, she remains unidentified.

She was estimated to be between 16 and 20 years old, approximately 5’7″ tall and 125 pounds, with black hair that had been pulled back with an elastic band. She had a pierced right ear and was wearing a black, rust, and blue cape-style coat with a hood, blue Levi’s jeans, a brown/beige/blue striped shirt, pantyhose, and white bikini underwear bearing the word “togetherness” along with an outline of two babies.

Her footwear was especially distinctive: bone-colored high-heeled shoes with approximately 4-inch heels. She was also wearing several rings, including one with an aquamarine stone, a yellow-gold 14K ring, a rose-and-stem ring, a twist bracelet, and a white-metal Seiko women’s watch with a black leather band.

Her remains had suffered traumatic injuries and were not recognizable, but investigators recovered all parts. Her case was eventually entered into NamUs in 2008 under NamUs #UP1523, with NCMEC case number 1184303.

She was someone’s daughter, sister, friend, or loved one. Someone may still be wondering what happened to her.
