Wilmington Delaware Jane Doe (2002)
🕯️ WHO WAS SHE? 24 YEARS LATER, THIS WOMAN STILL HAS NO NAME. 🕯️
On January 24, 2002, workers were boarding up a vacant home in the 1400 block of West Third Street in Wilmington, Delaware.
Inside, they made a heartbreaking discovery. The remains of a woman were found inside the abandoned property.
More than two decades later, she remains unidentified.
Investigators believe she was a Black woman between approximately 20 and 40 years old, about 5’3″ to 5’5″ tall and around 100 pounds. Her remains had been severely decomposed or mummified, making identification extremely difficult.
Her exact cause of death could not be determined. Cocaine intoxication was identified as a contributing factor, but investigators have never been able to establish exactly what happened to her.
🔎 BUT SHE LEFT BEHIND CLUES.
She was wearing:
• A gray, long-sleeve Ralph Lauren shirt with the Polo Jeans Company logo on the sleeve
• Black Results brand jeans
• Size 4 Timberland boots
• Short, tightly curled black hair with a slightly reddish tone
Several personal items were also found nearby, including a JanSport knapsack, a small Stuart Hall notebook marked “Work Book,” papers with writing on them, and a yellow-metal earring with a blue stone.
There were also everyday items nearby. Food wrappers, cigarette packaging, beverage containers, and a bottle of motor oil.
Were these belongings hers?

💔 Somewhere, there may be a family who has spent 24 years wondering what happened to their daughter, sister, mother, aunt, or friend.
She had a life. She had people who knew her. She had a story.
But today, she is known only as New Castle County Jane Doe.
