The Missing
Adriana Bejarano
Ephrata, Pennsylvania
Adriana M. Bejarano was 15 years old when she was last seen at 6:15 a.m. by her mom before she left for work on November 28, 1988. Adriana’s school, called Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic High School, was closed that day.
Adriana had a chat in the kitchen with her mom and said goodbye before heading back to sleep.
Nothing was amiss until Adriana’s step-father returned home from work that evening, and realized Adriana was not home. The living room curtains were still drawn, which was unusual because Adriana always opened them as soon as she woke up. The contents of her backpack were dumped out on her bedroom floor, but her backpack and a change of clothes were missing. Her purse was also left behind, and she didn’t take any money out of her bank account.
She was reported missing at 9:33 p.m.
Adriana was considered a runaway but her friends vouched for her, saying she hadn’t seemed upset or troubled and did not indicate any plans to leave.
There were theories that she may have left with an unnamed “older man” that was well known to her. Now, investigators believe she was murdered.
Adriana is a White/Hispanic female of Colombian Descent, with black hair and brown eyes. She is 5’2” – 5’4” and was 120 -130lbs at the time of her disappearance. She wore metal braces on her teeth and was possibly wearing jeans and a black trench coat.
There is a suspect in her case but as of now, there is not sufficient evidence to convict him. His name has not been made public and he no longer lives in the area.
Adriana’s parents hold on to the hope that their daughter may still be alive.
