Kami “Aviah” Lankenau, 40, has been missing since May 24, 2024, after disappearing from downtown Brooklyn, New York. She was last seen at 74 Eldert Lane during a transfer from a homeless shelter at 174 Prospect Place within the 78 Precinct. Kami needs medical attention, and her family hasn’t heard from her since her disappearance. She is approximately 5’5″, weighing 145–155 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She has distinctive tattoos, including a dove with Hebrew writing on her left wrist and a chemical formula on her right forearm.

Based on some IG photos, she surfaced in Washington DC in April 2026 and family attempted to reach her but she blocked them and has not been heard from since.

this is reassuring. I went to Cosmo school with Kami. She is an amazing person. She was beyond talented.
I thought maybe something happened to her.
are you sure about the photos? How come Brooklyn PD haven’t updated anything?
I hope you’re right either way. Would feel better knowing she’s still okay.

It’s nice to see others’ concern for her. She is the mother of my children, and has always been incredibly talented at what she puts her mind to. Those photos are accurate depictions of her leading up to her going missing. Some were taken with her family in OK/KS before she left to NY. The big photo above is from an IG post she made in NY closest to when she went missing.
Re: Brooklyn PD. Initially she was taking to a hospital via ambulance in a vulnerable disoriented state but remembered my number. After that she stayed in NYC shelters for a bit but then vanished, her family was trying to get her to move back home with them. A missing report was filed when she didn’t return to the shelters she frequented. Then PD dropped the missing person because she went to the ED, seemingly of her own volition, to seek care. A year after that she appeared in DC but hasn’t engaged with anyone (briefly with me, one of our children, and her side of the family) but then blocked us all. Her…reality…is not the one that is commonly shared with the general population.
It would be nice to know she is okay, indeed. This has been going on for about 8 years now in some form or fashion.
