Sussex Jane Doe 1980

Sussex Jane Doe’s scattered remains were located on June 24th of 1980 in High Point State Park in North New Jersey. It was estimated she died several years prior to being found.
She was located in the woods only 300 feet from Route 23 in Montague, Near the border of Wantage, New Jersey. Less than five miles away from Route 84 (East to West.)
Her skeleton had been dragged out of 5 plastic garbage bags by animals. The bones included arms, legs and a skull. It was determined the body had been dismembered with a saw. The torso has never been found.
Upon examination, a state forensic anthropologist concluded that Jane doe was most likely Caucasian and Hispanic with possible African American admixture. She was between the ages of 13 and 20 years old. She possibly had a stocky build, and she stood between 5 feet and 5’2”. Her hair was straight and naturally dark brown, dyed sandy blonde. Her hair was measured to be 6” in length. Her eye color was unknown.
Her teeth were in good condition with no dental work present. Some of her molars had a star shaped crevice pattern. All four of her wisdom teeth were present and still developing with incomplete root formation.
The only clothing located in one piece was a pair of blue jeans with 8 different multicolor threads down the front and back left leg. 34-35 waist, 29-30 inseam. Investigators were not able to locate the manufacturer.
The remains are currently undergoing testing by Ramapo College.
