For nearly six years, Heather Christine Boisvert’s loved ones lived with the heartbreaking uncertainty that comes when someone vanishes without a trace. Reported missing on August 1, 2017, the 26-year-old was last known to be in the Providence, Rhode Island area, where she frequently spent time in the communities of Providence, Cranston, and Coventry. As days turned into months and months into years, her family never stopped hoping for answers and never stopped wondering what had happened to the young woman they loved.

That painful search came to a devastating turning point in April 2023 when two people walking through a wooded area off Eisenhower Street in Coventry discovered human remains. Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, Rhode Island State Police, and Coventry Police, responded to the scene and began a painstaking investigation. Through DNA analysis and dental records, the remains were ultimately identified as Heather.

While the discovery brought an end to years of uncertainty, it also raised new questions. Authorities have stated that Heather’s death has not been ruled a homicide and that the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death remain suspicious. Investigators continue to work toward uncovering the truth and providing the answers that her family has waited so long to receive.

For Heather’s loved ones, the confirmation was both heartbreaking and bittersweet. The hope of finding her alive was replaced by the painful reality of laying her to rest, yet at last they were able to bring her home. Even now, they continue to seek justice and understanding for what happened during the years she was missing.
