🚨💙 Found in the East River… Yet His Name Remains a Mystery

On April 24, 2008, the body of a young man was discovered floating in the East River near Lower Manhattan, New York. Investigators believe he had been deceased for several weeks before he was found. More than a decade later, he still has no name, no known family, and no one has come forward to identify him. Somewhere, there may be loved ones who have spent years wondering what happened to someone who simply never came home.

The unidentified male is believed to have been of Asian descent and was estimated to be between 16 and 23 years old. He stood approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighed around 138 pounds, and had straight black hair about two inches in length. When he was found, he was wearing multiple layers of clothing, including a Kingboy brown dress coat, a black Gap long-sleeve shirt, a gray Linlaosan long-sleeve shirt, a gray LeMonde knit sweater, black Linlaosan stretch pants, brown DKNY corduroy pants, black socks, blue Xian Han underwear, and gray and orange North Face sneakers in a men’s size 9.

To help restore his identity, a National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) forensic artist created a facial reconstruction showing what he may have looked like in life. Additional digital reconstructions of the clothing he was wearing have also been released in the hope that someone will recognize him.

Every unidentified person was once someone’s child, friend, sibling, or loved one. They deserve more than a case number, they deserve to have their name returned to them. Even after all these years, investigators continue searching for the one piece of information that could finally tell this young man’s story and bring answers to those who may still be waiting.
