Essex County NJ John Doe (December 1986)

🌹 Nearly 40 Years Without a Name 💔

On April 25, 1986, an unidentified Black man was found deceased in Essex County, New Jersey. Decades have passed, yet his name, his story, and the people who loved him remain unknown. Somewhere, someone may still be searching for answers or wondering what became of a father, son, brother, uncle, or friend who never came home.

Investigators estimate he was born between 1931 and 1951. He stood approximately 5’8″ to 5’9″ tall, weighed between 140 and 170 pounds, and had black hair. His eye color, identifying scars, marks, or tattoos are unknown. He was found wearing a black zip-up jacket, pants, and black boots, approximately size 12. His exact date of death could not be determined.

Although no photographs are available, X-rays and dental records have been preserved and remain available for comparison. Even the smallest detail could help restore his identity and bring long-awaited answers to those who may still be missing him.

If you recognize this description or have any information that could assist investigators, please contact the New Jersey Police at 1-800-709-7090.

One phone call could help return this man’s name and provide a family with the closure they have waited nearly four decades to receive.
