🕯️💔 Twenty-Six Years Without a Name 💔🕯️

For 26 long years, this man has remained unidentified, his name and story lost to time. On August 1, 1999, a Black man believed to be between 60 and 75 years old was tragically struck and killed while attempting to cross State Route 441 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. His life ended in an instant, but the mystery of who he was has never been solved.

Before his death, he had reportedly been seen in Lancaster, Columbia, Marietta, and West Hempfield Township, and investigators believe he may have been living in the Columbia area. He was approximately 5’4”, weighed about 130 pounds, was bald, had brown eyes, and had no teeth. He had also undergone previous bowel surgery, a detail that could be the key to identifying him. At the time of his death, he was wearing tan trousers, a green shirt, and a hat.

Someone may remember an older man who suddenly disappeared in the summer of 1999. He deserves to be remembered by his name, not simply as Lancaster County John Doe. Every unidentified person leaves behind unanswered questions, and every family deserves the chance to know what happened to their loved one.
