On June 4, 2014, a heartbreaking discovery was made in Sandwich, Massachusetts when the unidentified remains of a Black male were found, leaving behind a mystery that remains unsolved to this day. A person’s life, memories, and story were reduced to unanswered questions, and investigators continue to search for the truth about who he was and what happened to him.
The remains discovered consisted of a torso, with the head, arms, and legs not recovered. The torso was found wrapped in a plastic tarp and secured with duct tape to a blue dolly with folding wheels. He was wearing multiple layers of clothing, including a blue short-sleeved shirt with the words “I got serviced” on the front and “Cranston Windustrial Company” on the back. Other clothing included black “Echo” sweatpants, a white “Gazy” t-shirt marked as size 4XL, a white “Fruit of the Loom” t-shirt marked as size 3XL, and striped “Hanes” boxer shorts.
The man was described as a Black male with black hair, standing approximately 5’8″ to 6’0″ tall and weighing between 220 and 230 pounds. Investigators noted a possible scar from a hernia on his abdomen. While his identity remains unknown, these details may be the key that helps someone recognize him and finally give him a name.
Behind every unidentified person is a story, a family, and a life that mattered. Someone may have missing a loved one, a friend, or someone they knew who disappeared without answers. Even the smallest piece of information could help bring this case closer to resolution and provide long-awaited answers.
